Cloudstreet Bakery is a paradise for bread lovers. Bread in the old-fashioned way. Simply extraordinary. Bread with a smoked flavour, because they use a wood-fired oven (built in 1926!). They offer all kinds of bread. All of them are organic. Made with sourdough. Flour ground in stone. Cakes and pastries. `Pan de Muertos`, Mexican bread to die for (the owner, Tonatiuh Cortés, comes from Mexico City).
This small bakery located near Hospital Clínic, in the Eixample, has become a reference shop for the neighbours of the area. Tonatiuh, musician and passionate about the world of bread, took advantage of the fact that this old and settled bakery was being transferred, so he decided to start a business and his passion here. He restored and upgraded the old wood oven that was already in the premises and got down to business (or to the dough!). Bread done in the old-fashioned way with first quality products, baked in a unique oven that gives it a special flavour thanks to the oak wood they use.
Apart from bread, they have various cakes, buns and sweets. If you’d like to have something to drink, they also have natural drinks. If you are staying in the Eixample, this is a good place to pass by and get yourself some breakfast or an afternoon snack.
