Ciutadella Park is one of the green lungs of Barcelona. It is true that it is not as big as Central Park in New York, or Berlin’s Tiergarten, but we like it and it is a very good place to go when you want to disconnect from the city’s movement and noise. Located in the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, the park contains the city zoo, the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya and the Zoological Museum, located in a very beautiful building called Castell dels Tres Dragons (Three Dragon Castle).
It was built in the1888 Universal Exhibition and its main symbol, the Cascada fountain, in the heart of the park, was designed to resemble the Fontana di Trevi in Rome. Near the fountain there is a larg lake and it is possible to rent a little boat and feel like you are in a movie. And, who can find a mammoth near there? Kids will love it.
Its 17 hectares ara always crowded of people taking a siesta, playing sports and kids playing around. The Ciutadella Parke is a very pleasant space that offers the possibility of relaxing in an unbeatable environment.
