Casa Vicens is a house, located in the upper part of Gracia, near Park Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudi. It is considered one of the firs buildings of Modernisme or Art Nouveau and was the first house designed by the beloved architect Antoni Gaudi.
The house belongs to the Neo-Mudéjar architecture style, one of the popular styles that can be seen in some Gaudi’s buildings. The architect mixed different styles and incroporated a huge variety of materials. The Casa Vicens represents a new chapter in the history of Catalan architecture as well as the beginning of a successful career for Gaudí.
Casa Vicens was a private residence until 2014, when MoraBanc purchased it and did a restoration before it was opened to the public as a museum in November 2017.
